Orla Kiely SS15

February has at last arrived and brought with it icy cold temperatures that leave us daydreaming about the warmer days of Spring. Although it’s not time to ditch the tights or wooly jumpers yet, we know when things warms up that we’ll want to be wearing as much from the Orla Kiely SS15 show as we possibly can!

Orla’s presentations are always rather special, constantly inventing new and interesting ways to bring her collections to life. The SS15 catwalk show was no exception as the pop artist Alia Penner had flown all the way from New York to perform a unique art installation as part of the presentation. Alia and her team of painters stood behind a large perspex screen in their painters smocks creating a bold floral back drop which was replaced after every show.

The models walked through the space holding over sized wooden flowers stopping to plant them in giant plant pots to a vibrant soundtrack from the Rolling Stones and Jack White.

The wonderful Emma Block created these vibrant illustrations of the presentation for us, aren’t they just beautiful?!

The clothes breathed a beautiful colour pallet of powder blues, lemons, and blush pinks. Our favourite pieces included a pretty blue sun dress that we’d quite like to take on holiday to somewhere in Italy, and 60s inspired monochrome co-ords that would work for fun filled days next to the beach. A nod to the seventies, with wide leg palazzo pants ensured our summer wardrobes are covered for every eventuality. This is the third season of collaborating with Clarks shoes, and the t-bar buckle up heels in lemon and baby blue will suit the Betty team nicely for the transition into Spring.
